We started training Captains to pass their Coast Guard examinations with "Prep Courses" in 1992. In 1997 we received Coast Guard Approval for our OUPV and Masters courses. In 2005 we received approval for additional course for Masters Upgrade and Rules of the Road.

With these approvals there is no longer a need for students who successfully complete our approved courses to take exams at the Coast Guard office. Successful completion of one of our approved courses satisfies the Coast Guard requirement for testing.

All of our training materials were developed by Captain Roy specifically for Captains. Each book is designed especially to study for that specific exam. There are four exams and Captain Roy has developed one book for each exam. Our materials are time tested, Coast Guard Approved to be used with our approved courses, and the finest available.

We schedule our Coast Guard Approved Courses to be taught on weekends so there is no need for you to miss work or use up valuable vacation time! Yes, there is a lot of material to cover, yet we present it in a proven method that makes learning fun! We have developed our own training materials that makes the concepts easy to understand and learn.

We teach with small classes to individualize instruction as much as possible. There is one instructor for classes up to twelve students and two instructors for classes with more than twelve students. This small class size allows active interaction between students and instructors.

All of our instructors are all licensed captains and have been were you are now. Not just any captain can teach. We select captains that have a natural ability to energetically present material and work with students. Your success is our number one goal!
